Finishing Touches To Add To A Space
Imagine you have just got done moving in or doing a remodel for your home. All of the big pieces of furniture are where they need to be. Yet, it still feels like something is missing. Maybe there needs to be more accessories added. The spaces in a home are constantly changing. Whether it be because of lifestyle, changes of taste, or you simply get tired of an object. However, there are tasteful ways to add those finishing touches to where they feel complete. Here are some ways to add those finishing touches to a space.
Layer Textures
We have slightly touched on this subject before. Bringing in layered textures can make a huge change. Adding a leather chair can bring in visual interest. It can even be a statement piece depending on how it is used in a space. Get different window treatments. This could be drapery that has cotton, velvet, and polyester the list could go on. Another could be the type of blinds that are being used. Such as bamboo blinds using those earthy elements. Lastly, add a couple poofs here and there that have different prints/fabrics.
Area Rugs
Adding area rugs to any space can add depth and warmth. If there is on open floor plan, area rugs do a great job at dividing the space up. Creating different “zones” with specific things that take place. Such as eating or watching tv. They also do a wonderful job creating a focal point in a room. Area rugs can also be an element as a soft background feature. It can also tie an entire room together making it more inviting. Lastly, they can add different textures like talked about in the paragraph above.
Add Books
Something simple but can add much elegance to any space. The obvious place to put books is a book shelf. However, there are more creative ways to incorporate them. As seen in the picture above, having a few books on a bench at the end of a bed is a great finishing touch. Three to five books would be a good number for last touches. If they are different sizes, it would be more satisfying. Another is putting them on a console table by your front door. One more place they would look great is on the fireplace.
