Go Gray!

We all know that gray is the newest trend. We are seeing so many things designed in shades of gray, so why not do this with the nursery? Keep in mind, you children will have so many colorful toys and other things, that a basis of gray won’t make the space “too drab”! Instead, gray serves as a great neutral choice for a girl or boys room! Add color through art work, light fixtures, rugs, furniture, etc. Add additional warmth by adding in unique textures such as furs, wood, rattan and velvet. Bonus! Baby’s love feeling unique textures and materials!

Pick a Theme

While animals are a great choice for either gender, there are many other themes that can make a nursery special. Think of your favorite movie, hobby, or even your favorite sport! With proper design guidance, this theme can be accomplished in a sophisticated and playful way. And don’t shy away when it comes to using colors for themes! Babies love color and even more, they love contrast! So use those darks and lights side-by-side; make this room the hit of the house!

Be Bold!

Like we said, pink and blue are just too boring sometimes! As a society, we love to assign these colors to our children without even knowing what their favorite color will be. Yes, it is traditional, and it isn’t always bad, but what if you embraced a different color? Or better yet, multiple? A bright color nursery can be a fantastic choice if you’re wanting a break away from tradition and are daring enough to think outside the box!
